What´s the plot?

For 25 summers a spirited group of Holocaust survivors have gathered at their cooperative ‘Four Seasons Lodge’ in the Catskill Mountains of New York - among the last remaining Borscht Belt vacation colonies - to spend a joyous few weeks dancing, bickering and flirting in the company of those who understand their horrific past. Inspired by their camaraderie, and with closure of the Lodge on the cards, New York Times journalist Andrew Jacobs spent three months recording them with a team led by
documentary pioneer Albert Maysles (Grey Gardens).

Jacobs’ vibrant film introduces us to ‘Lodge’ colony characters Carl and Hymie, struggling to satisfy the demands of 100 elderly residents; lovers Tobias and Lola, who met in a Nazi concentration camp; and friends Genya and Olga, still falling out and making up after 65 years. Illness and old age has dwindled their numbers, but some of the residents decide they won’t give up their summer paradise without a fight. Brimming with delight, heartbreak and black comedy, Four Seasons Lodge reminds us
not to waste a single moment.
