Feel good film

I don't know whether the previous reviewer was watching a different film because I thought The Rocker was thoroughly entertaining, funny and overall a really good "feel good" film. The ageing rock band gags were really good. I would recommend the film to anyone, came out of the cinema with a huge grin, so did my teenage rock mad sons.
Wasn't sure what to expect from this. Looked funny from the trailers and to be fair it was quite funny for the first half of the film. Although most of the funniest bits were in the trailer (don't you hate that). Anyway it stays funny right through to the end although the second half of the film has more emotional scenes than funny scenes. It's a typical story of the loser triumphing over the odds, but, unusually its done in a funny and entertaining way. One of the most surprising things about it is that the songs are actually quite good and look out for a fantastic parody of aging rock bands. All in all well worth a watch - not the best thing you'll ever see but a good hour and half of entertainment none the less.
